LED Vs. LCD Monitor-Which is better for playing computer game

There are a lot of similarities in LED, Light Emitting Diodes and LCD, Liquid Crystal Display. They use same basic technology for displaying image but differ in kind of back lighting. LCD monitor use cold cathode fluorescence lamps while LED monitor use gentle light emitting diodes. In other sense, LED technique is an improved form of LCD technique.

LED offers better picture quality as compared to LCD. LED provides larger light wave length spectrum and more gradation in intensity resulting in better real color quality on monitor. It helps in playing computer games on LED monitor more easily. One more advantage in LEDs is that they are slimmer as compared to LCDs as LEDs are placed around the rim on edge of the monitors.

LEDs are preferred over LCDs because they can provide better dynamic contrasts in viewing. By switching off LED, blackness of black color can be increased giving better contrast which is not possible in LCD. Overall effect is extremely rich picture quality, better display of image and comfort of viewing which makes LED more convincing.

These are long lasting monitors because of efficiency given by the materials. It is soothing to work on LED monitor for even long time as mercury is not used in their production and they are more eco-friendly.

Lesser heat dissipation in LED is also a quality worth notice while purchasing the monitor. Edge LEDs are more common in use and are placed around the rim of the monitor. With the help of a diffusion panel, they distribute the light equally behind the monitor. Dynamic RGB LEDs and Full Arrays LED are not so common in use due to spreading problems of light behind the monitor.

The manufacturing cost of LCD monitor is quite less as compared to LED. The process of manufacturing LED devices needs further innovations and research to make them acceptable in masses. However, lesser power bills in use of LED sets may compensate the gap in cost of the two monitors in long use. The day their costs go down, they will be the most preferred ones as compared to all other choices.

13 to 57 inch monitors are available in LCDs but LEDs can have any size monitor. Life span of LCDs is 50,000 to 100,000 hours while LEDs have a life span of approximately100,000 hours. Viewing angle in LCDs is 165 degree with distorted picture from the ends. Viewing angle also plays dominant role in LEDs as it provides different intensities in brightness of colors.

I suggest that display provided by individual sets and availability of budget to purchase a monitor should be the major criterion in purchasing a monitor rather than wasting hard earned money. However computer gaming is best done on LEDs.
